Lauki ka Kofta recipe

When do you remember to eat spicy food, then who can forget Kofta’s vegetable? I also remember the Kofta’s vegetable when there is a guest at the house or there is a festival.  Koftas are made in many different types, but the most popular are Lauki ka Kofta, Paneer Kofta, Malai Kofta, Cabbage Kofta, Potato Kofta, Mix Vege Kofta. Louki Kofta is a simple vegetable, which is mostly made in Indian homes. These days there is a season of the Bottle Gourd (Lauki) in such a way that you can live without making it. Nature Bring is telling you the easy way to make Lauki ka Kofta.

Ingredients for making Kofta

Bottle gourd (Lauki)                            500 grams

Gram  flour                                           50grams

Onions                                                   02 medium finely  chopped

Garlic                                                     06 clove

Green chilies                                        2-3 finely Chopped

Ginger                                                    2  inches (Grate it)

Green coriander leaf                          2 Tsp Chopped

Red chili                                                1/4 Tsp

Salt                                                         According to taste

Garam masala                                     1/4 Tsp

Oil                                                           for frying koftas

Ingredients for making Gravy

Red Tomatoes                                     2- 3 medium size

Green chilies                                        2 chopped

Curd                                                       1/2  cup

Cream                                                   1/2 cup

Oil                                                           1-2 Tbsp

Red chili                                                1/4 Tsp

Cumin seeds (Jeera)                          1/4 tsp

Asafetida  (Heeng)                              1 pinch

Green coriander leaf                          1 tsp Chopped

Red chili                                                1/4 Tsp

Salt                                                         According to taste

Garam masala                                     1/4 Tsp

Water                                                     1 glass

 

How to make Lauki ka Kofta (Lauki ka Kofta recipe)

  • Bottle Gourd (louki, dhiya, doodhi) according to the volume mentioned above. Take off its peel. When the whole gourd peeled, then grate it and squeeze it well. Keep the water out of it separately, use it when making gravy.
  • Take the grated bottle gourd in a big bowl, then, according to the above-mentioned amount, add gram flour, turmeric powder, ginger garlic paste, finely chopped onion, finely chopped chilies, and salt to taste. Take all the ingredients according to the quantity written above and mix well.
  • If the mixture is too soggy then add little gram flour to it. Leave this mixture for 5-7 minutes, so that the gram flour is well mixed.
  • Do not leave it for long, otherwise, the gourd will leave the water and it will be difficult to make the ball.
  • Make the balls with the help of hand palms of this mixture and keep it aside.
  • Take a coarse pan and heat it with oil. Insert so much oil in the pan so that all the balls can be deep-fried. Put some balls in the oil and fry it when it becomes brown, then reverse it and fry it.
  • Put fried koftas on a separate plate. All (balls) koftas should be leveled in this way.

For making curry

  • Mix the tomato and green chilies with the help of a mixer grinder. Keep this paste aside.
  • Take oil in a pan and do it. Put cumin seeds and Asafetida (Heeng) in it and roast till brown, then add ginger garlic paste in it, and roast it well. Then add chopped onion and onion until roasted until it becomes light pink.
  • Make the tomato and green chilies mixer with the help of a grinder. Keep this paste aside.
  • Take oil in pan and heat. Put cumin seeds in it and roast till brown, then add ginger garlic paste in it, and stir it well.
  • Add chopped onion and stir until it becomes light brown.
  • Add tomato and pepper paste to it. Then cook it for 3-4 minutes.
  • Keep stirring the mixture, otherwise, it will adhere to the surface.
  • After roasting the masala, add a glass of water, you can make it thick or thin according to your own.
  • Add red chili powder, garam masala, turmeric powder, and salt to taste in this gravy. Keep it stirring well and after about 2 minutes, add yogurt (curd) to it according to the amount written above and stir well. Cook for 2-3 minutes. Keep stirring in between.
  • Add the koftas (balls) prepared in this gravy, and cook for a 4-5 minute and garnish with coriander leaves.
  • Lauki ka Kofta vegetable is ready, to serve it with hot-hot roti, paratha or rice.

Suggestions

  • Caution When frying Kofta, fry it on medium flame. If you fry it in high flame, it will become brown but will remain raw from inside.
  • To make Smooth Gravy, you can put the onion in a mixer grinder by making a paste.
